The first scientific session of the Annual National Conference on Crime Prevention was held on July 10, 2021, under the chairmanship of Dr. Anas Baira, Director of the Center and Chair of the Scientific Committee of the conference. This session featured five valuable research papers on various aspects of crime prevention, both traditional and emerging. The research papers presented were:
– Dr. Abdel Ati Al-Haddad from Al-Zaytouna University in Tarhuna, Libya, on using remote sensing and urban monitoring techniques in crime prevention (Case study of Benghazi).
– An Arab research contribution by Dr. Abdel Qader Habash from Al-Zahra College in Muscat, Oman, on the crime of electronic blackmail (The Crime of the Era), presented via video conference.
– Professors Nahla Al-Sharif and Lahin Al-Oujali from the Faculty of Law and the Center for Public Administration and Institutional Development on the crime of embezzlement in public and private sector institutions in light of the Anti-Corruption Convention.
– Dr. Rehab Salem Amish from the University of Tripoli, who presented a research paper on the Penal Code, modern informational challenges, and the future of digital currency circulation.
– Dr. Intisar Masoud Al-Aqeebi from the Faculty of Arts at Benghazi University on the role of the family in crime reduction.
