Following the humanitarian natural disaster in the city of Derna, the center recently delivered a comprehensive “organizational consultancy” to the top authorities of the Libyan state/National Security Council of Libya. This consultancy includes a comprehensive proposal for the national program to support and develop “disaster, emergency, and crisis management” in Libya. The consultancy components include:
1. Completing and updating the components of the national disaster management plan, initially issued in 2007 by the Libyan Relief Agency, in collaboration with the relevant authorities.
2. Presenting a draft law for establishing a national administrative mechanism for disaster management in accordance with international standards.
3. A training project to build capacities in sectors and institutions related to disaster management and hazard elements.
We are confident in the importance and quality of this consultancy on this prominent issue and its ability to compete with any other similar proposals.
